PATS Training

Excel Passenger Services provides the MiDAS certified PATS training (Passenger Assistant Training) which is a nationally recognized standard of training for those who want to further their skills in providing care and assistance to passengers travelling by road.
The training is delivered in up to five modules:
- Module A: The role of the Passenger Assistant
- Module B: Assisting Passengers with Disabilities
- Module C1: Supervising Children & Young People with Special Needs
- Module C2: Working with adults who require care & supervision
- Module D: Working with Passengers with Complex Needs
Underpinning Excel’s training is the Social Model of Disability which looks at disability and impairment from a social and psychological perspective. Our skilled trainers engage our participants in exciting and dynamics discussions about passenger care and drivers and attendants’ legal responsibilities as well as enabling the participants to experience empathy and respect for the clients they take.
Upon completion of the modules participants receive a certificate of competence which attests to their capabilities. In addition to that certificate, participants join Excel’s network of attendants and drivers who are given support and guidance on working with passengers who may not always benefit from the standard level of care.
